Troop 403

New Parent Information

Hello and welcome to Troop 403!

Success in scouting starts with parents, and we are glad you and your son joined
Troop 403. Thank-you!

Troop 403 meets every Monday evening between 7:00 and 8:30PM at Saint Paul's Catholic Church, 10000 David Moore Road. Parents are encouraged to take on a leadership role in the Troop. It is the responsibility of the parent(s) to be prompt in attending the meeting with their boys. Scouts are expected to be in Class A uniform at all meetings unless otherwise notified. This includes closed toe shoes, shirts worn tucked in at all times, and a belt.

The first Monday of each month is reserved for the Board of Review and the Patrol Leader Council. Scouts and adults not attending either of the two breakout groups will be expected to attend their regular troop meeting. Any Scout not attending a regular meeting should contact his Patrol Leader to learn of announcements and activity information discussed at the meeting. Our quarterly awards ceremony, the Court of Honor, will be held on the third Sunday of February, May, August, and November, unless otherwise determined.

How can I get involved?

First, by attending troop meetings, you show your son that you are interested in scouting. Your son will notice your interest. Secondly, talk to the adult leaders of the troop and find out what their roles are in the troop. Find your role! Some parents work on the committee side of the Troop, while other work on the program side of the Troop. Everyone is invited to join in helping the boys lead this troop, and no one is an expert!

Ideally, we would like new parents to complete the BSA application, the Austin Diocese application, and the BSA online Youth Protection training before attending a campout with our scouts.
